About the program BCA & Bergen Tech Preparation Program Give your child the preparation, strategy, and confidence they need for the competitive Bergen County Academies and Bergen Tech admissions process. For over 10 years, April Institute has helped students prepare for Bergen County’s selective magnet high schools, with approximately 80% of our students gaining admission to BCA or Bergen Tech. Our comprehensive program goes beyond traditional test prep. Students receive focused instruction in Math and Essay Writing, while developing problem-solving skills, test-taking strategies, time management, and confidence under timed conditions. Fall 2026 Program 📅 September 12 – December 4 💻Wednesdays, 4:30–6:00 PM — Online 📚Saturdays, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM — In Person at April Institute The program includes: Math preparation and advanced problem solving Essay writing instruction and individualized feedback Test-taking and time-management strategies Practice tests and full simulation exams Individual progress feedback BCA/Bergen Tech application and admissions guidance Small-group instruction and personalized attention 7th & 8th Grade Programs 8th Grade Admissions Intensive provides focused preparation for students applying during the current admissions cycle. 7th Grade Foundation Program gives students an early start in strengthening the math, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and writing skills needed for future BCA/Bergen Tech admissions preparation. Complimentary BCA Readiness Assessment Not sure where your child currently stands? New students can begin with a complimentary BCA Readiness Assessment & Admissions Strategy Session to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and an appropriate preparation plan. Small groups. Cancellation Policy
By registering for services with April Institute, the parent/guardian agrees to the following: April Institute provides educational tutoring, enrichment, and coaching services only. Services do not constitute psychotherapy, counseling, medical treatment, or diagnostic services. Academic outcomes, grades, test scores, and admissions results cannot be guaranteed. Parents/guardians agree to provide accurate emergency and contact information, disclose relevant medical or behavioral concerns, and ensure timely drop-off and pick-up. Students are expected to behave respectfully and follow staff instructions. April Institute reserves the right to suspend or discontinue services due to unsafe, disruptive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed sessions without sufficient notice may be charged in full. Make-up sessions are subject to availability. Payment is due before or at the time of service unless otherwise agreed. Fees are non-refundable once services begin, except where required by law. Participation in tutoring, group activities, workshops, and enrichment programs involves normal and foreseeable risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the parent/guardian releases and holds harmless April Institute, its owners, staff, tutors, and contractors from liability for minor injuries, property loss, emotional distress, peer interactions, or academic outcomes, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct. Students are supervised only during scheduled program hours. For virtual sessions, families are responsible for appropriate technology and internet access. Recording sessions without written permission is prohibited. April Institute may use photos and videos for promotional purposes unless declined in writing. By registering to this course, the parent/guardian confirms understanding and acceptance of these policies.
